AFAIK, the final Fab4 remote will not have a browse button.

So is it just a dead button on the preproduction remote, or is some other code being sent?  It doesn't even wake up the screensaver.

The three buttons at the bottom of Fab4 remote have indeed new ir codes to allow some flexibility. But I don't know what the final plan is though. See:

I think the new players should do the appropriate thing when they see an "old" IR code. Even those documented in the Slim Devices .ir file but never on an official remote -- power_on, power_off, search_artists, etc.
