Bugzilla – Bug 13553
Changing Accounts on Last.fm - following "continue to Last.fm" does not show correct account (SC web UI)
Last modified: 2009-08-31 10:57:53 UTC
Running 7.4 v28228 on Windows XP. The described behaviour seems consistent across the web interface, classic player interface and Squeezeplay. When changing Last.fm accounts, you now need to go into Last.fm Radio, click on the currently showing account ("Account:Siduhe"), there is then an option to Switch to another account "Switch To:xxxx". If you select this, a further menu option of "Continue to Last.fm" is shown. However, if you select "Continue to Last.fm" the menu loops you back to the Last.fm Radio menu, but still shows the original account (in this example, Siduhe). Once or twice, it has actually changed the account, but not shown this in the menu, but I've also experienced it failing to change the account at all. Tried to capture a log, but nothing shows under plugin.lfm, plugin.audioscrobbler or prefs - so clearly haven't worked out the right debug option yet. As an aside, I assume the de-linking of the options in Last.fm Audioscrobbler and Last.fm Radio is intended. In prior versions of 7.4 and 7.3, if you changed the Last.fm Audioscrobbler option to a particular Last.fm account, that would automatically change the account which was shown in Last.fm Radio. Now the two run entirely separately, so if you want to play Last.fm Radio (your own personal account) you need to set both Last.fm Radio Account and Last.fm Audioscrobbler account. I can see the logic of keeping these seperate, but it does mean quite a few more button presses to get Last.fm radio set up (if you have multiple household accounts). Can someone confirm this is intended behaviour, as I will then open an enhancement request for "keep Last.fm Audioscrobbler and Last.fm Radio accounts in sync").
Andy: is this a SN or SC bug
SN.
Works for me. The main menu is not cached so after switching and going to "Continue", you will get a fresh menu for the new user. I agree it's confusing that the accounts for radio and scrobbling are separate now... need to discuss more if we want to make changing the scrobbling account also change the radio account. But that's a separate bug.
Created attachment 5701 [details] Set of 4 .jpg screenshots (In reply to comment #3) > Works for me. But that's a separate bug. Andy, maybe I've not described it well - or perhaps it's OS or browser specific. Hopefully these screenshots will describe it better. Each shot is taken after each button push: Screen 1 - start, hit Account:Siduhe Screen 2 - press Switch to: ruffers67 Screen 3 - press continue to Last.fm Screen 4 - come back to the account, still showing Siduhe as the account as started. In particular, look at the top line between Screens 3/4. It changes from Account:Siduhe to Account:ruffers67 so the account change appears to have taken place, but when you press continue to Last.fm, the change appears to revert (or perhaps the change happens again). The practical upshot of this is, however, that if I press Continue to Last.fm, I end up with the same account I started with. How it is working differently for you?
Oh, I guess it may be broken only in the SC web UI. Thanks.
(In reply to comment #5) > Oh, I guess it may be broken only in the SC web UI. Thanks. Agree - it's working ok for me on my SB3 and Boom player UI. Having a similar issue in Squeezeplay though, but not running the most up to date version, so need to check it's not that.
Sorry to say, it also works fine for me in the SC web UI as well as SP.
