Description Dominic Evans 2009-08-17 05:49:32 UTC
As of r7084, there is no longer the option to turn controlled players on/off
Comment 1 Neil MacLeod 2009-08-17 14:56:27 UTC
In a similar way that a long-hold on the "Home" button will turn off the Controller (although this may now be non-functional for _some_ users with r7084) would it also be possible to turn on/off the current _Player_ with a long-hold on Pause?

This would be in addition to allowing users to add a "Player On/Off" menu option to each players Home menu.

Long hold on pause is stop, which is different from pause and useful, particularly with live internet radio streams.

Home key will not turn off Controller or be used to return to home menu if user does not have an account on SqueezeNetwork (test.squeezenetwork.com for this case).

What is the difference between stopped and paused - is there a material difference? Why is stop more useful than pause with live streams?

I'd be really interested to know if people use the "stopped" state as I can't say I've ever stopped a stream (live or otherwise) in 5+ years of ownership. I would normally just turn off my SB3 if I'm not going to pause it...

It's a shame we can't choose what happens when Pause is held - for those who don't use stop it's a wasted opportunity.
