Bugzilla – Bug 13382
Battery Connector pins are too long
Last modified: 2010-03-22 08:32:12 UTC
The battery connector used on the PVT build has pins that are too long. I am able to reverse the plug 180° then plug the battery in to the connector, with out forcing it, which will cause the baby to short out. The pins are just long enough that they make contact before the stops are engaged.

Did you have a fix in mind for this, Caleb, before you got moved to DHG? I suppose I need to find a resource at ABU to look at this issue. Also, do I remember correctly that reversing the connector does not cause a serious problem? Or is that wishful thinking on my part?
Chris: you are correct, reversing the connector does NOT have any adverse effects on the units.
So, the Hirose connectors don't short, but the cheaper ones we currently use do short when reversed. We should probably just switch over to the Hirose connectors. -Caleb
Moving old Baby bugs to new group. Most of these are probably so old as to be invalid.
No damage occurs from reversing the connector this way.
