Description Osama Zaidan 2009-08-12 11:48:09 UTC
Baby Boom tested with firmware r6943.

Baby will not connect to the router using Push Button Method.

Router Netgear WNR2000

Does it work when you enter the passphrase manually?

I tested both this bug and bug 13371 against the very same router and I was unable to reproduce in 5 attempts. I even moved the router over to where Osama was testing and he and I both tried it over there and it worked. I'm suspecting some interference or possible other WPS testing may have been causing a one time issue. Osama could you please give this router some more of your time and see if you can reproduce again? If you can reproduce we'll work with Felix to log something helpful.

For some reason, at least here in the Mountain View office, baby isn't completely consistent connecting to Netgear routers via WPS. It seems very consistent with Linksys and Belkin WPS routers, but sometimes Netgears take an extra attempt. I don't feel this is a showstopper by any means, but something to continue to try to understand.

Thanks Osama!

Note: The WPS process, i.e. the first part when the 120s countdown runs, is similar to setting up SBR from SBC. A bunch of messages need to be transferred from client to AP and back and if one message gets lost there is some retry mechanism, but most of the time it needs to resync and start over and both take time. So, yes, interference, other WPS processes running, other wireless gear etc. makes it harder for the WPS process to succeed.

Do you guys have a non Logitech client to test against APs in case you see issues with Fab4, Baby or Jive?

If you are able to reproduce this outside of MV, please reopen the bug.
