Description Mickey Gee 2009-08-12 11:16:04 UTC
When user finishes setup, the next step is to configure Apps using App Gallery. Nowhere is this step mentioned in the UI, and the user is left to guess how to add Pandora or Rhapsody capabilities.

The last step in Setup should be something that explains what the next steps are if the user wants to add them.

Raised during CX review.

The problem with this is that it's not necessarily true. Depending on the user, the next step might be to try and play "My Music," in which case you'd want to go download Squeezebox Server etc.

Or maybe you want to start by listening to internet radio.

The next step isn't as clear here as Bobbykin made it out to be. And that's sort of by design; the hope is that people will play around and see what everything does.

It's a shame that CXR wasn't able to test any sort of working app system online etc...

I agree with Weldon on this. Given the limited number of home menu options, the (hopefully) clear categorization of the apps and the (hopefully) intuitive installation process I really don't think this adds anything and, as Weldon points out, is a barrier (albeit a small one) for many users who want to access their own music or Internet Radio stations...

Copying Sam since I believe this was his request...

Resolving as invalid. This is trying to solve a problem that we don't even know that we have.

We can re-open this if it becomes apparent that users are not finding the App Gallery amongst the six default Home menu items that will be present on the device.
