not a duplicate. bug 12530 is about the missing button - which now exists. This bug is about this button not always working as expected.
Comment 4 Michael Herger 2009-08-14 00:55:14 UTC
Matt, Mickey - do you know whether those players might have been connected at the time when you tried to remove them?
Comment 5 Matt Wise 2009-08-14 08:13:17 UTC
Its possible. If thats the case, perhaps an error should come up.

Comment 7 Michael Herger 2009-08-14 09:07:54 UTC
Matt - we probably need another button to disconnect a player from mysb.com. Otherwise they can't be deleted. Or disable the delete button as long as the player is connected?
Comment 8 Matt Wise 2009-08-14 09:09:24 UTC
Either solution would be acceptable in my mind (with some hover-over
popup that explains why its happening). Ie, if you grey out the delete
button, a hover-over popup that explains why. Or, if theyre connected
the button switches to "disconnect, and delete" or something.

It would work like this:

If player is connected: 2 gray buttons - "disconnect" and "delete"
((use javascript popup flow like we have today)

If player is disconnected but not deleted: 1 green button labeled "connect" and 1 gray button labeled "delete"

If player is deleted, it doesn't show obviously...

How would the Connect button work?
Comment 11 Weldon Matt 2009-08-14 10:02:26 UTC
I'm just trying to mimic our current behavior, sorry, I don't have it memorized, and all my players are connected to beta right now.

The point is that negative actions (delete, disconnect, "cancel" etc) are considered "secondary" buttons in this design (gray), and things like connecting, activating, signing in etc. are considered "primary" buttons (teal).

But I'm not trying to propose any new behavior here. Just mimic the states we have now. There is already a "status:" text field on the page to indicate connected/not connected status.

Understood... just checkin. :)
