Description Dave Stoppelman 2005-04-05 19:29:08 UTC
Noticed that duplicate songs appeared when there is an apostrophe in the name
of the song or an album. Not sure if caused by the apostrophe in the file
name or the title of the id tag and, also, the file name or title of the
album. After looking in multiple albums it was a consistent error. In cases
where I had two copies of the same song (in different albums) with an
apostrophe in it was duplicated it picked both albums and displayed the
duplicated song on both albums (effectively making it appear that I had four
copies of the song vs two). For example, I have the same song - "It's all
been done" in both the Stunt and Greatest Hits albums. The song showed up
twice in both the Stunt and the Greatest Hits albums.

I have these same albums (with apostrophes in the right places) running against
a constantly updating 6.1 branch but I don't see the issue you report. I wonder
what's different...

Are you running the new 6.0.1 that was just released? Have you done a wipe
cache and/or rescan since upgrading to 6.0.1?

I am running 6.0.1 released 4-5-2005. I did rescan after update. Wipe cache
button not an option on server on this version.

Dave - can you stop the server, remove the slimserversql.db file, and start the
server up again? Once it's done scanning, do a rescan. Does the same problem happen?

Are you using iTunes / MusicMagic / MoodLogic?

Thanks.

I did find the wipe cache. Chalk this one up to a newbie. Anyway, after a wipe
and rescan the database was correct. Not sure what condition caused this to
begin with, but I am considering this closed.
