Description Matt Wise 2009-07-27 10:17:55 UTC
Multiple users are reporting that Syncing a Fab4 with any IP3K player
seems to kill audio output until the sync group is disabled and the
Fab4 is physically reset. See thread:

Sound output stopped
Comment 1 James Richardson 2009-07-27 13:31:42 UTC
Unable to reproduce with 7.4 r6783 and SB3.
Comment 2 KDF 2009-07-29 21:46:32 UTC
i can. There is a bit of audio from Touch, listening carefully it's the track that should be playing, but played VERY VERY slowly and yet also trying to stay in sync.
Comment 3 KDF 2009-07-30 22:51:46 UTC
even unsynced. all playback is complete garbage.
Comment 4 KDF 2009-07-30 22:52:12 UTC
oh, and I've factory reset many times
Comment 5 Chris Owens 2009-08-03 09:32:01 UTC
Richard thinks some SC logs might be interesting. Matt, if there is a thread you could quote so we could go look, that would be great.

QA will follow up and try to understand why this happens for KDF and not for us.
Comment 6 Matt Wise 2009-08-03 10:34:25 UTC
See this thread:

http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=65775&highlight=sync

Notice that its fixed after they disable Syncing and reboot the player.
Comment 7 Matt Wise 2009-08-07 11:15:24 UTC
This still happens with the latest Fab4 code.
Comment 8 James Richardson 2009-08-07 13:32:23 UTC
Alan: any idea on this one? I have seen audio errors when syncing 2 SP devices together, and with latest Fab4 firmware r6887 I am now seeing this error with SP & IP3K players.

What if any logs do you need?
Comment 9 Alan Young 2009-08-08 00:59:14 UTC
To be complete, the logging should be: player.sync=debug, player.source=info, network.protocol.slimproto=info.

I was certainly not seeing this a couple of weeks ago and I have been doing a lot of testing with Fab4 synced to a Boom or other ip3k player.
Comment 10 Alan Young 2009-08-14 23:26:26 UTC
Mostly fixed in r7079 but the actual sync is not yet perfect.
Comment 11 Alan Young 2009-08-15 09:39:24 UTC
I think that this specific issue is now fixed. Further sync issues are being tracked in bug 12909.
