Bugzilla – Bug 13061
Image Viewer: HTTP should point to some "official" photo stream
Last modified: 2010-04-08 17:26:44 UTC
Show off what this Image Viewer is, what it can do, and market SD/Logitech players........all at the same time! :)
A little lower on the priority list, but definitely a nice idea! Assigning to Noah. Noah, do you already have renderings of all of the devices that we can leverage for this?
Created attachment 5546 [details] Ref artwork - Player slides Example screen comp for the proposed player slideshow. This is to get the conversation started. Would need a little input from Marketing on final approved directions.
The attached image is formatted for a 272x480 display. The QVGA skins would have less negative space. The players by themselves are going to be a little stark. Something I am very comfortable with, however, if we are trying to showcase the image viewer/display full color images might be more appropriate...

Assigning to Matt Weldon for comment.
I question whether this is the right approach. You've already bought a Squeezebox, and now you're going to be forced to view images of more Squeezeboxes in your image viewer? Need to discuss further with Seth. I can see a use for the images for general marketing purposes, AND I can see a need for default images in the image viewer. But I don't think this specific approach is necessarily best. In any case, this probably won't make it for 7.4. Not enough time, too many other higher-priority issues.
Definitely not for 7.4. Probably not for 8.0 either... I also agree with Matt re whether or not this is the right set of images if we decide to include any default images. That said, I'm not sure what would be better...

IMHO, I do agree that images of more SB players might be a little over the top. Was just an idea to get *something* in there and to tweak Marketings interest in doing so. :) That said, I can think of two reasons why such images might be of some value: - impulse purchase knowing little or nothing of other SB players - showing to friends, also with no knowledge of what else is out there Granted most will just go to your website (hopefully). Just thinking out loud. And I suppose you must be careful not to seem too pushy in "selling" the customer on more devices. How about an image of a Sonos system being run over by a steam roller??
Or, might be a GIFT from someone. The recipient may know nothing of your players.
We should add something to mysb.com which we can manage on our end.

Maybe we should have an 'Employee pics' like we do for radio station recommendations. :)
Chris commented on bug 15876: "Andy to host a few images on MySB instead of on herger.net" ...which is this bug. Is this for the 7.5.0 release?
Andy to tell Michael wehere to upload the files
