Bugzilla – Bug 13059
unsuccesful library switch results in required reboot
Last modified: 2009-10-06 09:22:17 UTC
Currently have Baby on MySB, tell Baby to switch Library to SC7.4, but SC not currently running on my computer, Baby offers "Try Again" or "Select other Library", MySB not offered. result: I've now been disconnected from MySB with no way to get back on to MySB. All Menu choices (Local, More Radio, etc..) just continually show the mini *connecting circle* spinning. Possible Options: 1. Don't actually disconnect Baby from current source (MySB or SC) until my selected "switch to" source is verified as accessible? 2. Fall back (automatically reconnect) to Baby's source (MySB or SC) if attempted Library Switch fails? 3. Unplug Baby (only option now available) BTW: The same "Power Button no longer functions" as detailed in Bug 13058 is now affecting Baby from the above condition.
Possible other Baby recovery option, offer what the Boom and SB3 would do in such a situation: Press and hold BACK (left arrow), now offer "Connect to MySB" or "Connect to SC".
Other beta testers as well as QA have verified this behavior in the latest firmware. After switching from SN to SC or SC to SN there is no way to switch back if the service you are going to is missing at the time of the request.
Reset priority before triage.
fixed in r6837 - reconnection to current server on failed switch to other server is smooth now.
