Description Max Spicer 2009-07-22 11:11:29 UTC
My baby seems to keep turning itself on. I leave it turned off, and then later find it on. No idea what's triggering this at the moment.
Comment 1 Max Spicer 2009-07-22 11:51:32 UTC
This may actually be a symptom of Baby crashing and rebooting.
Comment 2 Chris Owens 2009-07-27 09:58:34 UTC
If this turns out to be a duplicate, we should consider the issue that if the device is 'off' when it crashes, it should reboot to the 'off' state.
Comment 3 Diane Lee 2009-08-04 09:10:46 UTC
My Baby seems to turn on when it's "off" when a new software update is pushed out.
Comment 4 Pat Ransil 2009-08-04 11:18:01 UTC
check to see if fixed - box should preserve state across a hard power cycle.
Comment 5 Spies Steven 2009-09-08 17:02:44 UTC
Baby does appear to go back to the last power state it was in when it connects back to the server after power is restored from having been cut.

If baby is in a factory reset state and at the language selection screen and I turn the unit off with the front button and remove and then restore power it will be in an on state after it finishes booting. I'm not sure we would want it differently.

I have also seen that baby will turn on from an off state when a new firmware has been pushed out and the screen will be awaiting user input to update the firmware. I'm not sure if this functionality is part of the firmware or the server. This should certainly be fixed Perhaps this should be a separate bug?

Richard, what do you think?

Fixed Bug #12978
Don't push the firmware update screen above a screensaver. This prevents it looking like the player turns on
when a firmware update arrives. Also it stops now playing, or another screensaver being rudely interrupted by
a firmware update.

Add window methods to allow windows to be pushed beneath a screensaver.

Fix bug were firmware updates were not always shown when using custom firmware in SC.
