Bugzilla – Bug 12963
When playing AAC random sine-wave tones interrupt music
Last modified: 2009-10-05 14:27:15 UTC
I've only noticed this when listening to "My Music" on SC 7.4 on a baby boom, though I don't know for sure if this is coincidence or not... The problem is that at seemingly random times, every 5 minutes or so, music playback will be interrupted with an "emergency broadcast system" - style sine-wave tone for about 3-4 seconds. Playback usually resumes a few seconds afterwards. Running the latest nightly firmwares on a PB2, latest (I think) version of SC (though this has been happening for a week or more).
These are AAC files, right? I think this is due to the evaluation version of the AAC decoder we are using.
Moving to the product SqueezePlay because this bug appears to apply to any player based on that application code. Feel free to move it back if it's specific to the single original product.
Yes they are AAC. I'm an iTunes guy.
The estimated time looks wrong, this bug is just for tracking and will be fixed when bug 12420 is complete.

== Auto-comment from SVN commit #7502 to the jive repo by richard == == https://svn.slimdevices.com/jive?view=revision&revision=7502 == Bug #12420 Fixed Bug #12963 Updated HE-AAC and HD-AAC decoders. This removes the random sine-wave when playing AAC. I am still testing both decoders before closing bug 12420.
