TinySC doesn't seem to support Pandora (and perhaps others?)... but still shows it to you in the menu for your player. I'm not sure if it will support Pandora directly, or redirect the client to SN ... but right now you just get a Spinny when you try to use it.

Taking this one step further, what happens to other clients (IP3K, etc?) using TinySC as their server when they try to connect to these services. Will they also be redirected to SN properly?

I guess that ip3k players will have to use the existing mechanism to switch to SN. If they are part of a sync-group, then the switch should be automatic. Even when synced, their player-UI would not have a Pandora menu on TinySC.

Why aren t we just supporting things like Pandora with old players
through tinysc?
Comment 3 Alan Young 2009-07-21 10:19:50 UTC
We do not have enough memory for all the plugins.
Comment 4 Matt Wise 2009-07-21 10:24:42 UTC
Ah... can TinySC show Pandora in the PlayerUI menu, buyt when you
select it, it redirects you to SN? Or at minimum, show "Pandora:
Unavailable" or something? It could be very confusing to users to just
not see the option there.

I'm going to make this dependent upon bug 14095 as that would solve this problem in the general case. I don't know if Tom can find a workaround that works without 14095; otherwise I would tend to suggest that we don't implement a feature to support this.

moving current p2 bugs to p3 to make room for moving p1.5 bugs to p2
Comment 7 Pat Ransil 2009-10-23 05:11:11 UTC
Administrative move of 7.5 bugs. All P2, P3, P4 being downgraded one level. Will then split P1s.
