Description Bryan Alton 2009-07-20 03:49:29 UTC
I think this bug is related to bug #12943

Not sure if this part is significant - after playing a radio stream and stopped
the stream. I think the bug also happens when showing menus.

Stopped Screensaver kicks in with a Clock (which is according to settings)
Then power off using WebUI (as there is no power button on clock screensaver) - set to show blank screen and so screen goes blank.
Wait about 30 secs (not sure if this is important)
Touch once to get button to appear.
Touch power on to wake up but screen stays dark - no sign of life.
Need to touch power on a few times before screen appears.

If power off is pressed when the Now playing screen of a stopped stream is showing - then only one touch of power is needed to get Now Playing screen displayed.

Moving to the product SqueezePlay because this bug appears to apply to any
player based on that application code. Feel free to move it back if it's
specific to the single original product.

I haven't retested with recent firmware update but just to clarify since the title was changed.

Power off of Fab4 is done while in clock saver using WebUI or using remote of another player which is controlled by the Fab4.

If you then try to power on Fab4 using Fab4 touchscreen - the fab 4 touchscreen power on button needs to be "pressed" more than once to get Fab4 to wake up.

I have had a similar experience:

When I go into power-off mode and leave it off for a while, I can't power the unit back up.
I don't get the power-on button when I touch the blank screen.
I can tap the screen and hear sound effects, so it's not dead.
If I keep touching top-left, I can get the date/time screensaver up, with a power button displayed. If I click it, it powers off.

i.e. can't get back into idle mode - need to reset unit.

Please retry, I believe this is fixed with some related changes.

Been trying to break it over the last couple of days - much improved.

However, I have still seen it go wrong.

SBT controlling Boom player.
I touched the power button, to go into power-off state. Screen black.
Then a few seconds later, the LCD backlight came back on (by itself).
Touching the screen then showed the power button. When I pressed this, it turned the Boom player on, but the SBT went black (as if it was turning player power state off).
