Screenshots - "Artists.png" is artists list with Aerosmith missing. "Search.png" shows search results for Aerosmith.

When looking through the full list of artists, I notice that at least one is missing, even though searching for the artist by name finds it in the database.

This is not a problem with missing articles - the artist in question is "Aerosmith".

If you do a Clear and Rescan, does the artist show up?

Are your Tags for that artist correct?
Comment 2 Walker Aumann 2009-08-01 13:58:17 UTC
Cleared library and rescanned everything. Aerosmith still does not appear in the list of artists, at least under "A".

Looking at one album...

When I look for the artists "Steven Tyler" and "Joe Perry", I also find nothing under J, P, S, or T. So, while I can pull up these albums using the search, they are not shown in the Artists display, even though when I type "Aerosmith" in, the search results do list "Aerosmith" as an available artist.
Comment 3 James Richardson 2009-08-02 08:43:10 UTC
Steven: can you have a look at this?
Comment 4 Chris Owens 2009-08-10 13:21:30 UTC
Hi Walker, thanks for dinner the other night!

Could we trouble you to attach one of the "missing" songs to the bug? There might be something funny in the tags as SC sees them.

Comment 6 Walker Aumann 2009-08-12 12:00:24 UTC
Hooray, attachment uploading worked today. If it'd help, we can arrange remote access to the server running this.
Comment 7 Chris Owens 2009-08-12 16:54:26 UTC
I can't easily reproduce this (I'm running 7.4 on my work laptop (XP)). That is to say, it scans and plays okay.

Walker, could I get you to find the scanner executable (I forget where it is on linux, though) and run scanner --wipe and attach the output to this bug as a file? There might be something interesting in there...
Comment 8 Walker Aumann 2009-08-13 18:50:25 UTC
[09-08-13 07:30:16.5544] main::main (122) Starting SqueezeCenter scanner (v7.3.3, r27044, Mon Jun 15 14:48:51 PDT 2009)

That's all I get. Presumably there are magic strings to pass to the --debug flag that will enable more output, but I haven't gone into your libraries to figure out what those are.
Comment 9 Walker Aumann 2009-10-19 22:33:55 UTC
Upgraded to 7.4.0 - r28672. Did a clear & rescan. Problem still exists.
Comment 10 Walker Aumann 2012-03-20 11:28:46 UTC
This is no longer happening.
