Description Joerg Schwieder 2009-07-16 23:56:28 UTC
It's not really a player thing but I can't do server bugs that are limited to Fab4, can't I?
Also, maybe it's not a server bug at all.

Anyway: Fab4 always reports not the current but the previous FW version when queried through the server, so when I use the WebUI or even the device itself (Settings->Information-><player name> Information" I get the wrong one.
The only way to get the right one is "Settings->Information->Info".

It's always been this way but I think after half a year it's time to file a bug for it :-)

Moving to the product SqueezePlay because this bug appears to apply to any
player based on that application code. Feel free to move it back if it's
specific to the single original product.

Richard - is the firmware version a bit of information which fab4 is communicating to SC in regular intervals or when connecting or something?
Richard T.
michael, when it connects
it's in the 'capability' info in the helo
that's only parsed when it first connects after sc is rebooted.
it needs to be parsed on a reconnect too
Michael H.
ok
Richard T.
also, while your fixing that, can you expose the firmware version via the cli.
Michael H.
that's exactly what I wanted to know
yes
ahm... can you add that request to the bug? :-)
Richard T.
at the moment it indicates if the firmware needs updating, but some of the test scripts i'm working on, it would be useful to know the firmware version.
