Lotsa growl notifications.

I awoke this morning to the attached screen.

Also, I would rewrite the text in the notification thusly:

An updated version of Squeezebox Server is available and ready to install. Visit the Squeezebox Server in System Preferences to start the upgrade.

I like this text suggestion.

Problem is we don't let it disappear (because support really wants the user not to miss the message). But afaik I can't check whether the message is already shown. The growl interface is too limited to do this.

Did all those messages show within a day or a few hours? Or did they only show after the box had been left running for a few days?

change 27777 - updated string copy

Matt - your call on the notifications. I see two options:

- make the notifications disappear after a few seconds - but then we might want to signal the availability more often

- leave the current mode where the notification would stick forever, potentially cluttering the screen if the machine is left running for many days without user interaction

We kind of need to do this. It's the accepted etiquette on Mac. We can play with the frequency (every 30 min?)

Can't do this, it looks hack-y...

Also, I agree we should implement Dean's suggested string.

change 27852 - if Growl is being used to signal the available update, repeat notifications every 60 minutes, but don't have the messages stick on the screen. Interval might need tweaking.
