Description Caleb Crome 2009-07-11 15:43:59 UTC
I was playing on r6526, and the sound effects make the regular sound cut-out.

Playing and MP3, 320 kbps CBR, 44.1k, from a usb mounted disk.

The sound effects come through, but the non-sound-effects (actual music) gets quiet during the duration of the sound effect.

Its easy to test by repeatedly pressing 'back' when playing a song. Easier to hear when the music is loud.

When sound effects are turned off, there's no problem.

Dunno if this needs to be for MPQ, but I'm marking it for MPQ so it doesn't get ignored :-) Push out to MP if it won't affect MPQ.

Sounds like this could be a 6dB off thing. Is that possible? When mixing in sound effects, you end up dividing the signal stream by 2?

Moving to CXR. I know the problem, and this should be easy to fix. It's not an MPQ issue, as you should not be able to play music with MPQ firmware, only complete setup.

Fixed in new-alsa branch, r6532. This will be merged to fab4 branch in a day or two.
