Description Dan Evans 2009-07-09 09:22:14 UTC
When on AC power Baby should never put it's wireless card/driver into power-save mode. As opposed to on battery power, that is.
Comment 1 Felix Mueller 2009-07-14 02:15:49 UTC
At the moment power save for wireless is disabled as it makes wireless unstable. This is with Atheros 2.1.2.20.

We need to re-evaluate power save mode with Atheros 2.1.2.62.

I don't think this is relevant for either CAT or CXR. They aren't testing with batteries if I am not mistaken. Moving to MP.

This is something we specifically did on the controller, as the wlan power management on the chip set is poor. It appears that this is much smarter in the Atheros driver, and so, when it works, maybe we can leave this on all the time.

I am not sure if this is even for MP? I would only be relevant when we start selling batteries.
Comment 4 Felix Mueller 2009-07-21 08:51:56 UTC
Power save mode is currently always disabled as wireless doesn't work reliably with it turned on. This is with Atheros wireless driver 2.1.2.62. We will re-evaluate when we get version 2.2. (which also officially supports WPS).

We won't get the new Atheros driver anytime soon, most likely not before MP anyways, so moving this bug to 8.0.1

It has been decided to never use power safe mode for wireless. We also do not provide the exact external 32kHz clock needed for power safe from the MCU anymore.
