Placeholder for development:

With the change to having dropdown background snap to grid (every 45px) there is now a potential to have large amounts of negative space below supporting information.  Need to resolve whether this is acceptable or move to centering the entire text body within the space...

I think that, actually, we should keep the current model.  In the context of a single screen, I see your point, but if we did this, the top of the text would be in different locations on almost every screen, which would be less of a clean look.

It's a trade-off either way: we either have variable amounts of blank space under the text, or we have variable top-and-bottom spacing above and below the text due to it being centered.

Let's keep the design current for now.
