I don't know whether this is a Windows installer issue, but I see the same error in all my server logs. Is there supposed to be a server.version file?

change 27778 - silence the updater

That message was confusing, as there are states where no file is expected to be there. I silenced that warning and set the general logging level for updates from debug to the default warn level.
