Could date formats default to a date format that is appropriate for the language (or region) selected when setting the device up?  It should be able to choose a format that has day/month the right way round if not in America?

Also, in Settings > Advanced > Date & Time, there's an awful lot of Date Formats to choose from.  A series of selection screens or options to choose the format would be easier (eg. choose whether you want day of week from None, Short or Long format, whether you want 2 digit or 4 digit year, etc).
