Description Jos 2009-07-01 14:03:40 UTC
On the Settings page, Music System tab, Audio page, there is a field "Audio StartUp time" (I'm translating from Dutch here). The "i" button next to it provides the following helpful text: "a value of 0,25 works for most systems". When entered like this, with the decimal comma, this value doesn't work at all, and worse, causes many warnings in the log:

Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1139) Warning: [20:21:51.5881] Argument "0,25" isn't numeric in numeric gt (>) at /usr/share/perl5/Slim/Player/Source.pm line 427.

Of course, a value of 0.25 (note the decimal point) does work.

Squeezecenter 7.3.3-27044 runs on a Linux box running kernel 2.6.28-11 and Perl version 5.10.0.

While we can provide translations, we can't localize all detail in them according to your server's local setting. If your system is set to use some other locale settings, then you'll have to know yourself how to enter a decimal.

That said - is the comma the wrong delimiter in Dutch? IMHO this is correct. What locale settings are you using on your server?

Jos suggested enhancing SC to accept both , and . as decimal separators.
Comment 3 Jos 2009-08-12 14:48:17 UTC
As Michael said, perhaps it would be easiest for the software to accept both the decimal point and the decimal comma - apparently it isn't clear-cut and idiot-proof which one is used on a given server. It may not even be under the user's control.

Just my € 0,05 :-)

Thanks,

Jos.
