Description Joerg Schwieder 2009-07-01 05:58:52 UTC
When I play a Napster playlist in "Shuffle" mode, the track order in the playlist seems to be wrong and often, NowPlaying shows the wrong track.

I'm using an old 7.4 build and can't currently test this with something else, so please check.
I also didn't check with SN (without SC) but will do that later today.

Way to reproduce (works reproducibly for me):
Napster->Search->Artist->Lily Allen->Artist Automix->Play All
Then select "Shuffle tracks" mode.

The durations also seem to be mixed up and when the actual track is longer than the one shown in the playlist it will skip to the next track after the duration of the track shown (not the one actually being played) is over.
If the track being played is actually SHORTER than the one being shown, playback stops after the real track's duration if over and you have to skip o the next one manually to resume playback. This also seems to get the tracks back in order for a while.

Looks like this may have been partially addressed, as it is working for me as of now.

Tested on SBS as well as SN (test.sn)

The only thing I notice is that when you 'shuffle' the first time, the currently playing track meta data will be replaced with another song.

but I only saw that once, Joerg are you able to verify this?

No, can't use SN over SBS right now:
https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13738

Also don't know of a way to switch players to test.SN (my server is always on and there's no manual way to switch a player over anymore, isn't it) so I can't use that directly, too.

Marking this as fixed for now, please reopen if you can replicate the issue again.

I've seen this again this morning on my Touch
r7728 I believe.
Playing a straight Album from Rhapsody, no shuffle, no syncing but the display was lagging one track behind.
Comment 5 Joerg Schwieder 2009-09-25 04:06:52 UTC
Sorry,
didn't mention this, don't know if it matters. This was while playing through SC, not SN.
Comment 6 James Richardson 2009-09-25 04:36:19 UTC
Can you get a log with plugin-napster set to debug
Comment 7 Joerg Schwieder 2009-09-25 04:48:30 UTC
Was Rhapsody this time :-)
I'll try to get a log tonight.
Comment 8 James Richardson 2009-10-01 12:04:55 UTC
Joerg: any further news on this?

No, I'm seeing this sporadically but I haven't been able to reproduce it or to generate a log of it.

OK, see this again.
This time the playlist is NOT shuffled.
It shows up wrongly on ALL my interfaces: iPeng, Transporter, Touch and Web interface.
Transporter and Touch are synced.

This time I have been able to create a log.
The interesting thing is: while I monitor the log I can see that SBS requests information about the next track from MySB upon track change.
THAT information (returned by MySB) is actually CORRECT, yet SBS still shows the information for the last trach on all interfaces. It just always lags one track behind. Everything else looks ok, it changes tracks at the right time, everything. Just wrong track info and artwork.

Please re-open with new, updated information if you still see this.
