Currently, the first screen in setup (Choose Language) has a red wireless icon in the status bar. Starting people off on a negative is not a great user experience. Instead suggest hiding or removing the icon until you have successfully connected to your chosen network.

When present on screen, icon should be centered aligned left to right if it is only element.

Agreed. Tom: is this yours?
Comment 2 Richard Titmuss 2009-07-03 16:06:20 UTC
I've made a change to /etc/network/interfaces, so that a default interface (ethernet) is not selected on factory reset. This change on it's own is enough for the network status item not to be displayed in setup. Tom, please double check, but I think you can close this bug now.
