Description Osama Zaidan 2009-06-29 09:59:35 UTC
A few customers have reported, after installing Squeezecenter 7.3.3 they are getting the following two lines of errors when they try to open SC.

1- SQUEEZ~1.EXE - Entry Point Not Found

2- The procedure entry point Perl_sv_2iv_flags could not be located in the dynamic link library perl58.dll."

Ticket #090624-000405

Windows XP SP3
SC 7.3.3 official

Customer receiver the PERL error

"The procedure entry point Perl_sv_2iv_flags could not be located in the
dynamic link library perl58.dll."

I had him update PERL from the following link, and it did not help.

http://downloads.activestate.com/ActivePerl/Windows/5.10/ActivePerl-5.10.0.1005-MSWin32-x86-290470.msi

Configured McAfee Security to Permit both Inbound and Outbound Access for the follwing following:

SqueezeCenter.exe
Scanner.exe
SqueezeTray.exe

The problem disappeared.

Per this information, I wonder if it is the systemtray.exe causing this issue, since SqueezeCenter does start, and also the Scanner.exe is running, even witht the Perl error.

Thanks,

LaRon

Ticket #090702-000575

Windows Vista Ultimate
Trend Micro
SqueezeCenter 7.3.3
Malware application

Symptoms:

Customer was receiving the following Perl error

"The procedure entry point Perl_sv_2iv_flags could not be located in the
dynamic link library perl58.dll."

Troubleshooting:

First had clean install SqueezeCenter 7.3.3 - Still received error
Had Uninstall Trend Micro and reboot - still received error
Had clean install without Trend Micro installed - still received error
Had Uninstall Malware application and reboot - still received error
Had clean install without Trend or Malware app installed - still received error

Had re-install Perl via the following link and reboot

http://downloads.activestate.com/ActivePerl/Windows/5.10/ActivePerl-5.10.0.1005-MSWin32-x86-290470.msi

Customer did not receive Perl errors, and had reboot again to make sure.

SqueezeCenter 7.3.3 is now started and re-scanning his music without any error thus far.

Customer states he will wait for music scan complete and then re-install his Trend Micro, and will let me know if he has any further Perl issues.

Thanks,

LaRon
