However left continues to work if using an ir remote.

Seems to be intermittent, will keep an eye on it.

This seems to happens intermittently and with various keys and when it happens, evtest no longer shows any events occurring for the problem keys. Reboot fixes the problem.

I found this was repeatable if a key was pressed (eg + for factory reset) while booting. Fixed in r6355.
