Bugzilla – Bug 12553
Baby reacts slow on volume changes - especially on fast volume changes
Last modified: 2009-10-05 14:38:10 UTC
Volume changes can be slow to come up. As in REALLY slow. It seems to be more of an issue for fast volume changes (turning the knob like a full rotation very quickly) and it can take longer than a minute until all changes come through. I suspect this has to do with too many volume commands being sent in too little time - I did see similar effects with the volume slider in iPeng. My workaround was to limit the volume changes actually sent to 5/s, accumulating outstanding changes for up to 0.2s and then doing a bigger change.
This is fixed (or at least, it's much better now). Also, local volume control will be added to improve it further. bug 12713 tracks that.
