Bugzilla – Bug 12543
Bootloaders for MP and post-MP (was New Realtek Part)
Last modified: 2010-02-02 13:21:22 UTC
Update redboot to handle newer realtek part. Part will be phased in after MPQ/PVT.
This should only require a board rev bump. Does not need any functional modification. -C
The part will be phased in mid MP
Reset priority before triage.
I talked to Randy and Diane. The way they are dealing with this is by treating this "firmware" (referring to redboot + firmware) as being linked with the boards with the new part. They are working with our production line manager in SZ to make sure that this new "firmware" is only used at the time when the boards with the new parts are phased in. I'm adding David Stein to the cc list because he will be involved in updating the production line with the new red boot.
== Auto-comment from SVN commit #7004 to the jive repo by richard == == https://svn.slimdevices.com/jive?view=revision&revision=7004 == Bug #12543 Updated bootloaders, and script to build all bootloader revs. This might be too late for MP, I didn't realize we needed to rev the board revision. 0004 = MP 0005 = MP + new realtek part
New bootloaders are now build for MP (rev 0004) and MP+new realtek part (rev 0005). I'm not sure this is in time for MP, didn't realize that the bootloader needed rev'ing for that.
Moving factory-related bugs to new category.
Update target
Included in MP1 and MP2 DVD releases. Additional shortcuts were created to be accessed from the command line allow a user to install onto specific platform. Factory Desktop link points to the current MP2 fw for new realtek part.
Moving old Baby bugs to new group. Most of these are probably so old as to be invalid.
