Description Blackketter Dean 2009-06-22 16:58:09 UTC
It looks lonely on the home screen without one.
Comment 1 ndijulio 2009-06-22 17:24:06 UTC
1. Will this be an app add-on?

2. Are we developing this app internally?

3. Is image viewer the final name?
Comment 2 Blackketter Dean 2009-06-22 19:51:00 UTC
Lukas, one of our community contributors (and a good friend of Felix) is working on the Image Viewer app. It will ship with the new hardware.

I don't think that we've decided on the final name, but for the icon's purpose, it should reflect the ability to browse and see slide shows of photographs from both local sources and over the network.

Please remove this silliness from the Home menu. Just _try_ to remember, if you're still able to, that this device is a music player.

I hate to be the one to say it, but there's very little need for an "image viewer" on a device with a postage stamp sized screen.

Good point, JJ, see bug 12499

Related question (different bug?): Should any item moved to the Home menu be given some default icon? For example, I moved Settings > Advanced > About up to the top, but it has no icon.

This has an icon now.
