Bugzilla – Bug 1239
"Browse Music Folder" from player fails on non-ASCII directory names
Last modified: 2008-08-18 10:53:41 UTC
Under my root music folder, I have a directory "Classical\Alfv[e-acute]n, Hugo". (Where [e-acute] represents the actual e-acute character; the directory was created by Windows Media Player on XP, so will be in whatever the normal character set is from that.) From the Squeezebox 1 player UI, I would like to browse to its contents using the "Browse Music Folder" functionality. Expected behavior: "Browse Music Folder", press right, displayed is: Music Folder (2 of 6) Classical Press right, displayed is: Classical (2 of 70) Alfv[e-acute]n, Hugo Press right, displayed is: Classical/Alfv[e-acute]n, Hugo Symphony No. 3 Press right to view tracks. Actual behavior: "Browse Music Folder", press right, displayed is: Music Folder (2 of 6) Classical Press right, displayed is: Classical (2 of 70) Alfv[e-acute]n, Hugo Press right, displayed is: Classical/Alfv[A-umlaut][copyright]n, Hugo Empty Can no longer press right to view tracks. Note that the Web UI works perfectly fine, and if I play the music via the Web, it plays properly. I'm using SlimServer 6.0 and a Squeezebox 1 (upgraded to the graphical display). I've made sure that the firmware is updated to Version 40 on the box. This problem did not occur before upgrading to version 6.0 from 5.4.
Mike - I've fixed this in subversion change 2883. It will be in the 6.1 build tonight - and I'm going to propose it for the 6.0.1 release as well.
