Description Mike Cappella 2009-06-05 10:41:17 UTC
Two parts here:

(1) If you start the server, and then quickly go to the Information tab, it is blank. And it stays blank until you switch to another tab and then return. If possible, the tabs contents should be updated while the tab is selected. Otherwise, *something* should be presented (minimally, a "Start Me for more info" note). It seems counter-intuitive and contrary to typical app behavior to have an empty About or Info box unless the service is started.

(2) The information tab is blank when the server is not started. If possible, provide some basic information (SC version, etc.) when server is not running.

I'd clearly vote against constant updating as usually there aren't that many changes. But as long as nothing's displayed, it should at least try. I'm close to done with the Windows version. The Mac PrefPane is next on my list. Stay tuned for some changes.

I'd agree that "constant" updates are not warranted. Perhaps a) when blank, and b) after the scanner completes since that is a background activity. The data is fairly static.

A refresh button might be simplest?

Taking up too much space :-). You're on the Mac? Can you "right" click it
to reload?

Yup, and that would have never occurred to me (but knowing this is now handy). I'm thinking this isn't so obvious.
