I've gotten 3-4 reports of this so far this week. What sort of information
should I be trying to get?

i'm seeing this now too... i did a wipe cache and now:
- mc chris "life's a bitch and i'm her pimp" shows up as "Like Swimming"
- morphine's "Like Swimming" comes up as "Body of Evidence"
- patricia cornwell reading body of evidence comes up as "In the Flesh (Live)"
- browsing to "life's a bitch and i'm her pimp" comes up with a manu chau song
someone sent me for an album artwork bug

things are just all crossed all over the database. a real mess.

Don't know if this info helps, but:
My setup
OS - MS Win 2000
Slimserver V6.0.0
Music folder structure - no iTunes - structure is \GENRE\ARTIST\ALBUM (YEAR)
\TRACKNUM - TITLE
Separate tracks encoded as FLAC mostly with FLAC tags, some albums also have
cue sheets (but this doesn't seem to affect things one way or the other).

Following a wipe cache (and sucessive wipes/rescans as well to try and fix)
Symptoms
1. Browse Album list on web interface is not presented in alphabetical order
2. Some album titles duplicated as ALBUM and also as ALBUM (YEAR) with
different contents
3. Tracks shown as within albums are often in fact from different albums /
artists
4. Browse Artists is presented in alphabetical order, but many artists have
wrong album names assigned to their tracks.
5. Wrongly assigned tracks will not play
6. Browse Music Folder works fine

- I think, but cannot be sure, that the TRACK to ARTIST assignation is
correct, but the ALBUM assignment is where it's getting screwed.

- have checked and original tags in FLAC files are intact and correct

cmrich - Can you try the latest nightly build?

I checked in some changes which might fix this - although I've been unable to
reproduce it myself.

Dan,

I've now installed the 2nd April nightly from the 6.0.1 tree and it seems to
have sorted out the major problem I was seeing thanks. I'm still seeing a
couple of duplicate (but slightly different) album names appearing - but I
suspect this might be due to a conflict between the FLAC tags and the CUE sheet
info - i.e. my problem!

Thanks - Chris
