Description Spies Steven 2009-05-29 15:56:38 UTC
I am no longer able to get controller into this state but I still wanted to document it.

The behavior is that controller no longer senses that it is in the charger. This results in no charging sound when placed in the charger and no charging animation on the screen among other things. Once in this state a power cycle will recover normal functions.

I was able to get controller into this state at one point with Richards help by placing controller in the charger while it was in a suspended state. Of course this is not easy to do since normally moving controller would wake it up. Perhaps the charge state of the battery is a contributing factor preventing my ability to reproduce at the moment.

I was able to get all 3 of my controllers in this state. Left them out of the charger over the weekend (+24 hours) woke them up by shaking them. Then placed them in the charger.

No connect sound
No battery charge indicator
The battery jumped to FULL icon (from 1/2 icon) and stayed there
60sec later, the jive went back to sleep state while in the charger
60min later, removed jive from charger, woke it up, and battery indicator showed 1/2 full.

Having a similar issue with a customer. The controller did not sense that it was in the charger anymore after he updated the firmware.
He resolved it himself by placing the controller in the charger with the battery removed. Now it seems to be working again.
I did not yet get confirmation which version of SC and which FW version he has on his SBC.
