Bugzilla – Bug 12168
Problems scanning tags on q10 48kHz Oggs (Audacity generated)
Last modified: 2009-10-05 14:27:02 UTC
Created attachment 5271 [details] Scanner log showing quick scan including offending files and good files Version: 7.4 - 26714 @ Fri May 22 01:10:49 PDT 2009 Although I did not set out to do testing on the 7.4 scanner I soon noticed that several files had not been included in the scan result, and that re-scanning simply duplicated the entries for files in the same directory. Perhaps I should distinguish two bugs: 1 The scan log gives the fact that there was an error for files that winamp is quite happy with 2 The resulting track listing ignores those files that are in error, AND displays duplicates of the files that were successfully read in that directory when a rescan is carried out. The files impacted seem to be from a subset of my collection at were ripped from LP using Audacity to create ogg files at q10 48kHz (because it was the closest to lossless I could afford - disk space wise - at the time). Note that only SOME of the q10 48khz files are impacted. In the attached fileset is: scanner.log showing the errors. 9 ogg q10 48khz files where tracks 2, 4 and 6 were in error.
Created attachment 5272 [details] track 1 (OK for scanner)
Created attachment 5273 [details] track 2 (not OK for scanner) I'll stop here as my upload bandwidth is poor. If you want further examples let me know.
I would be happy to have a workaround. So far I've tried "touching" the tags with both winamp and with mp3tag (both of which should rewrite the tags concerned) but no change in scanner behaviour. Unfortunately I don't have an easy way of selecting the 48khz files reliably (too many tag updates and file copies since Christmas 2002). So any work around would have to address how to update only that subset! Note that my "comment" tag certainly isn't shared by the whole subset - the only characteristic the files have in common is the fact that they are 48 khz.
Bitrate and duration scanning is broken for this file, that's what triggers the error message. ogginfo can determine this info, so I need to fix the bug in Audio::Scan.
Fixed in Audio::Scan 0.20, will be updated in SC soon.
(In reply to comment #5) > Fixed in Audio::Scan 0.20, will be updated in SC soon. Certainly seems to be fine now. All 48khz file tags read by last nights build. Thank you very much.
