Bugzilla – Bug 12129
Scanner fails with UTF-8 error
Last modified: 2009-05-21 14:16:31 UTC
Ubuntu 9.04 SqueezeCenter Version: 7.4 - 26702 @ Thu May 21 01:15:30 PDT 2009 I've cleaned and rescanned the library, but it always fails at this file. looking at the schema.pm code, it looks like it is trying to clean up comments. According to the mp3 tags, there are no comments for any of the songs in this album. Scanner Log =========== Slim::Utils::Scanner::scanDirectory (331) Scanning: /raid/shares/music/CD Rips/Brandi Carlile/The Story/01 - Late Morning Lullaby.mp3 [09-05-21 11:47:32.8946] Slim::Schema::_preCheckAttributes (2154) Warning: Malformed UTF-8 character (character 0xffff) in pattern match (m//) at /usr/share/perl5/Slim/Schema.pm line 2154. Removed that album from the filesystem and the rest (38,000+) went through just fine. Completely cleaned the MP3 tags and re-applied just the basics. I'll try rescanning that album once the full scan finishes.
And please attach the file that won't scan to this bug.
Is it the last file named ("01 - Late Morning Lullaby.mp3") or the next one?
It's that one, 01 - Late Morning Lullaby.mp3
Created attachment 5251 [details] MP3 File causing the failure I have cleaned the tags since the error happened. I'll try it locally when the full scan finishes.
Rescan after tag clean up succeeded - Sorry! Seems I cleared out the problem.
Did you clean the tags before or after you uploaded that file? It doesn't seem to contain any non-ASCII tags.
Unfortunately before...I couldn't find any non-ascii in there before the clean though.
Do you have a backup? Would be good to know what tag was causing the problem.
No. Sorry.
