Bugzilla – Bug 12104
Single Line Title blank on BBC Listen Again Composer of the Week
Last modified: 2009-07-31 02:17:37 UTC
I'm playing BBC Listen Again Composer of the week (radio 3). It has a very long title, which may be relevant. In the two two line sizes, the very long title scrolls. In the one line size, it is blank. I see this with MusicInfoSCR using Title as the value for the one and two line screens. I also see it if I turn off MusicInfoSCR and just navigate to Now Playing. I've put this under SB3, but it's probably a SC bug.
Mark: does this also happen with SC 7.3.3 / 7.4 and SB3 FW r126
7.3.3 26751 SB3 126 It's only the now playing display that is empty. When I press play, the title scrools nicely until the screen saver kicks in or I to to now playing.
Marc - I tried to reproduce this but composer of the week does not seem to be working correct at present. Bryan - have you seen this/are there more issues with the parsers?
It's been a while since I made changes in the area so my recollection is a bit fuzzy. A few months ago, the BBC dropped providing full info with the rtsp header - it now just provides bare minimum.
Clip info: name: Composer Of The Week 12 06 2009 copyright: Copyright 2009
So I made changes to add some detail from web page info. When testing this now - there is no Artist Info and program title coming from RTSP headers. With my SB3 - I get title info on all 3 sizes. AlienBBC uses SetCurrentTitle API to display this info. On Controller / Squeezeplay the web prog title info is also displayed "Composer of the week: Fryderyk Chopin: Episode 5". I don't use MusicInfoScr but all I can guess is that it is using info same as Controller (because of the "long title" remark) and it is using Song Title /Artist / Album Artist and these may be blank..
Mea culpa. This IS a MusicInfoSCR problem. But it shows up even if you don't specify MusicInfoSRC as the screensaver - merely enabling the plugin does it. And when the plugin is enabled, the display shows the MusicInfoSRC layout (for me, elapsed time at the right) even when it's not specified as the screensaver. So I'll complain in the forums. I did test with MusicInfoSCR not selected for the player, but failed to turn it off totally. Sigh.

Did you enable customized Now Playing screen in MIS? Would you mind sharing your MIS configuration file with us? I really don't see any reason how and why MIS would influence anything unless one of its features is enabled. Maybe you enabled the NP customization but didn't configure it properly?
Created attachment 5336 [details] MIS prefs file
I do have customized playlist display set to use screensaver. So that's why my experiments failed. I've attached my musicinfo.prefs
