Description Stein David 2009-05-15 17:25:41 UTC
Need to have "Audio Playback" moved to Factory Test and change the menu reference to the function "test tones". This is required for both Fab4 and Baby - any all moving forward. ALSO - the output signal level can be reduced by 1/2 !!!!!

Baby is mentioned, so it's secret.

David: Why do you need the levels cut by half? We need to make sure that the units aren't distorting at full output.
Comment 2 Stein David 2009-05-16 05:56:25 UTC
On some babies the audio was cutting out. I showed this to Caleb and he believed that the power level was too high and the power amp was "cutting out". He suggested cutting the output by 1/4. I believe that 1/2 would be fine. I would not want to have Fab4 output be too low when making changes for baby.

Caleb, what's the right thing to do here?
Comment 4 Caleb Crome 2009-05-18 08:28:30 UTC
For Fab4:
I think moving the menu around is the right thing to do.

For Baby:
We need to do several things with the factory test audio stuff:

1) make the signal levels reasonable. They're *way* too loud (way over 18Watts). They probably need to be reduced by 15 dB or more.
2) Make the test tones for woofer and tweeter different, so that they are in the right frequency range. These can easily be .wav or .mp3 files.
3) Add a headphone test so that headphones can be tested separately, without the main speakers on. Needs some plumbing to control the DAC properly.

The test tones for baby need to be different from fab4.

Changing target to next major milestone (since MPQ & MP have been reached already)
Comment 6 Blackketter Dean 2009-07-22 09:17:55 UTC
Moving to the product SqueezePlay because this bug appears to apply to any player based on that application code. Feel free to move it back if it's specific to the single original product.

I think this is already done, please reopen if you disagree.
