Description James 2009-05-14 17:01:40 UTC
Hi,

Had an issue with my Boom yesterday - connected to Squeezenetwork.

1st day -
Alarm started, radio stream played for a few seconds - then stopped playing. Powered off unit with remote and let it be.

That evening - 2300 NZT
Wanted to check that the radio stream would play, by pressing the preset button. No sound - "playlist empty".

Tried other station - e.g Staff Picks -> Miles Davis = music played fine.

Tried several other stations under:
Internet radio -> Local -> ... all had same 'playlist empty'. Tried several NZ, Australian, World sites - all failed.

Unplugged unit - checked again... same problem, certain stations e.g the Staff picks worked fine - so not a connection issue.

I suspect this might have been an issue on squeezenetwork site?

Two things:
1- If alarm goes off - play something - anything... in this case, the connection was fine - but because of some random error - there was no noise...

This means the unit does not perform one of its most advertised features - an alarm clock.

2- Make it easy to configure alarms! When I realised that my 'usual' radio MIGHT not work, I opted for one of those noises - e.g wind charm. Having to scroll though to find the correct alarm and configure it is just not friendly.

Suggest some sort of 'next alarm'.

3- Functionality of squeezenetwork. I don't belive I should have to install a server/nas device just to support my alarm clock. If there was a problem with the squeezenetwork site- can it be fixed to be more reliable?

James: Please try firmware r45 as I believe these issues have already been addressed.

Max, aren't these issues already addressed in other bugs?

I can't update to r45.

Squeezenetwork is not upgrading me from 43...

New firmware is not available on SqueezeNetwork yet, you need to download & install SqueezeCenter 7.3.3 from http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.3 to get the new firmware.

Once you have installed 7.3.3, move your player to SC from SN, the unit will upgrade it's firmware. After that, verify this issue is fixed for you.

This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.3 release version of SqueezeCenter!

If you haven't already. please download the new version from http://www.logitechsqueezebox.com/support/download-squeezecenter.html
