Bugzilla – Bug 12022
Set rating not visible in some cases.
Last modified: 2009-08-11 21:44:22 UTC
I select to play an mp3 album with squeezeplay (both pc and duet remote version) and go to the now playing screen. The song is good so I want to rate it, so I press the button and the playlist pops up, I click again and I get to the song info screen. The rating option is NOT there if I haven't set a rating for that song earlier. Now, if I select Play this song from the same screen, the rating option becomes available and I can now rate the song. Can you reproduce that behavior? Please note that it has to be on an unrated file ID3 tag version seems to be 2.3.0 if that should matter.
We don't have rating as part of our core functionality. Are you using a plugin to do this? Is this Last.fm or some other of our services? Thanks.
Oh, Hmm, I am talking about setting the rating in the ID3 tag of the mp3 file or the FLAC tag in the FLAC file. I thought that was a core functionality. I've always used Erlands plugins so maybe it is something in the Trackstat plugin that enables the rating option? /Joggs
Erland: What logging would be helpful in diagnosing this issue?

It's probably the TrackStat plugin "Rating" menu implemented through the TrackInfo functionality. (In reply to comment #3) > Erland: What logging would be helpful in diagnosing this issue? I don't think there is one, TrackStat doesn't do any logging in this section. I suppose there aren't any errors in the SqueezeCenter log ? I tried it in my own setup and it seems works perfectly, it shows the "Rating: Unrated" menu for unrated tracks and it's possible to navigate into it to set the rating. Have you been able to reproduce it ? For the record, TrackStat doesn't write the rating to ID3 or FLAC tags, it just store them in the SqueezeCenter database.
There has been no movement on this bug in several months. Should I close it?
(In reply to comment #5) > There has been no movement on this bug in several months. Should I close it? Yes, as far as I see it's not a problem with Logitech software. If the TrackStat problem remains for someone, they can post in the "3rd party plugins" section of the forum and I'll pick it up from there.
