Description Jordan Hirsch 2009-05-10 13:57:34 UTC
I installed SqueezePlay Version 7.3r5497 on my Macbook under my profile. It saw all my music sources and connected fine - I can control my SB and/or the SqueezePlay software player with it just fine.

However, when I try to run it from my wife's Mac profile (also a full Administrator account) SqueezePlay can only see one of my music sources - when I type in the IP address for my other SC installation, it shows up in the list but there is no right-arrow and I cannot connect to it. I deleted the app and reinstalled the latest version, but it still just remembers the non-functioning IP I already typed in (I expected it to start fresh with a clean list of sources but it did not) and I still cannot connect to it. And my other SC installation is no longer showing up in the list at all. It seems to make no difference whether or not SqueezePlay is currently running in the other profile.

Tried again recently, completely uninstalled the app, deleted the preferences folder, and reinstalled into my wife's profile. At first run, it did not recognize any music sources. At first run in my profile, it immediately recognized my server and let me connect to it.

Another update: I was able to solve the issue by copying the files from

[my user]/Library/Preferences/Squeezeplay/userpath/settings/

to

[her user]/Library/Preferences/Squeezeplay/userpath/settings/

and chowning them as her user (not sure if that step was needed but it seemed like the right thing to do).

Now Squeezeplay is working fine for both of us.

Before I did this, I was getting these messages in the console from her profile:

6/28/09 8:44:06 PM [0x0-0x8b08b].com.logitech.squeezeplay[657] 203925:529 INFO (SlimServer.lua:370) - SlimServer {jordan-pc}: address set to 172.21.21.100:9000 netstate=disconnected

And now I'm not seeing those messages any more and Squeezeplay is working fine.

I would still consider this a bug as I had to manually come up with a workaround, but I thought it would be helpful for you to know how I got it working. Thank you.
