Description James Richardson 2009-05-08 12:34:18 UTC
I.E. Favorite #6 is Rhapsody, I press 6 on the boom and it plays Rhapsody

I then tune to an Internet Radio station, go to Now Playing, verify it's the radio, and press and hold 6 on the boom

Then I tune to another station, press 6 and I get the Internet Radio station I just programed.

Go back to SN > Favorites and I notice that 6 is still Rhapsody, and a new station has been added to the bottom of my favorites list, with a new favorites number
------------------
There is no WEB UI to allow the customer to change the Boom presets

Note the only bug here is lack of a way to change preset buttons via the web UI, not that favorite #6 appears as #7.

Why do we need this feature? It's an honest wuestion, not trying to be snarky.
Comment 3 James Richardson 2009-05-08 13:54:28 UTC
So people have an easy way to see what preset is associated with which favorite via WEB UI

The issue is that the favorite list is separate from the preset buttons. You can have any number of favorites, but only a few presets.

When you set a preset, a favorite gets added and assigned to that preset button.

Replace a preset, and a new favorite gets added and assigned to that button on that device. The old favorite doesn't go away, as these are shared among (potentially) multiple players.

The web UI needs one area to show the favorites (and let users modify them) and another area for each player that shows what favorites are associated with what button. This could be a simple dropdown for each preset, allowing the user to select a favorite.

Wait, aren't the first 6 items in your favorites list automatically presets? This is the assumption I'm using designing the SN "favorites" page. Please advise.

No, any item in favorites can be linked to a preset button. It doesn't re-order your favorites when you set a preset. You can even set a favorite that is not in the top-level favorites menu.

Interface needs to be designed by Weldon, then implemented by Michael & Andy.

This will need to get changed. Working on the page design for mysb this week, hopefully this will clarify things...
