Description Magnar Strand Olsen 2009-05-07 02:02:16 UTC
I've got a handful of CDs ripped as single FLAC files with embedded cue sheets. Squeezecenter apparently does not read these cue sheets at all. I am able to play back the files, but each CD plays back as one single, long track.

There are no special/accented characters in the cue sheets.

I just upgraded to 7.3.3 and did a complete rescan, without any change.
Sox and FLAC are both installed.

Please provide a sample CUE sheet so we may investigate

Foobar might be using a different tag for embedding cue sheets than what SqueezeCenter is looking for. I'll take a look.

I did not embed it with Foobar; I just used Foobar to copy the cue sheet in order to attach it to the bug report.

It does appear that flac with embedded cuesheet support in SqueezeCenter is partially broken.

I have found that if the flac without an external cuesheet only contains the cuesheet as a vorbis comment the track and metadata information will not be recognized by SqueezeCenter.

However if the flac without an external cuesheet contains both the cuesheet metadata block and the cuesheet as a vorbis comment SqueezeCenter will recognize both the tracks and track metadata info.

Of course if the flac only contains the cuesheet metadata block no track info will be available but SqueezeCenter does recognize the tracks.

A flac with a external cuesheet does not appear to have these issues. That is to say it does not seem to matter to SqueezeCneter what metadata blocks the flac contains if any to show up properly in SqueezeCenter as long as there is an external cuesheet.

Andy, is this something you can look at?

Yeah I will look at this.

Did a fresh install of Opensuse 11.1, installed the stable Squeezecenter 7.3.3, still the albums with embedded cue sheets play as single tracks.

Upgraded to 7.3.4, did a complete rescan, no change in behaviour.

Moving all SQLite-related bugs to 8.0.
Comment 10 Andy Grundman 2009-11-11 14:25:02 UTC
Can someone confirm if this is still a bug?
Comment 11 Magnar Strand Olsen 2009-11-26 05:43:34 UTC
Hi Andy,
sorry for the delay.
I just did a test install of the latest 7.4.2 build on my laptop and copied over one of the offending FLACs with embedded cue sheet. The result? Squeezebox server now reads the cue sheet and displays the tracks correctly!

Perhaps now it's time to upgrade from 7.3.4 on my server.

Thanks a lot,
Magnar.
