Description Julius Dauz 2009-05-05 13:18:24 UTC
Problem stated in summary.

Test 1 on SC 7.3.2

1. SC pointed to folder with this file in it only *iTunes option unchecked. (File in question is Attachment 1 [details])

2. As soon as I click to rescan (Full clear and rescan), a Windows error pops up stating scanner crashed( attachment 2 [details]), but SC is still running at this point.

3. I go to the SC home page, click on Music Folder, Windows error pops up stating Squeeze~1.exe crashed. (Attachment 3 [details])

4. Page cannot be displayed in left pane, SC stopped.

When trying to reproduce this issue with 7.3.3, it seems as though scanner does complete, and there is no Windows error pop up message, but when going to the SC homepage and clicking on Music Folder, sc crashes.

Also, when removing the two non-ascii characters from the file name, I do not experience this issue.

Comment 2 Julius Dauz 2009-05-05 13:22:44 UTC
Mixed up the attachments, Attachment 1 [details] is the scanner crash page dump and attachment 2 [details] is the file in question.

Also, last attachment is the edited file name that works just fine.
Comment 3 Julius Dauz 2009-05-05 13:37:02 UTC
Unable to attach file, file is over 20MB compressed.

Hand delivering file to James Richardson.

QA confirmed.

What SC log's would help diagnose the issue?
Comment 7 James Richardson 2009-05-05 13:59:51 UTC
With no extra logging set, I see the following error:

[09-05-05 13:54:43.2535] main:: (187) Warning: Callback called exit at /<C:\PROGRA~1\SQUEEZ~1\server\SQUEEZ~1.EXE>Audio/Wav/Read.pm line 187.

James/Julius - could you please add a sample file causing this crash?

Andy - did you rewrite the wav scanner too?
Comment 9 Andy Grundman 2009-05-06 05:18:54 UTC
Yeah WAV scanner is completely rewritten. Need the file.

You can download the test file from there
Comment 11 Andy Grundman 2009-05-06 10:52:57 UTC
Oops, if this is just a filename issue, you probably need to zip it up so it retains the original filename.
Comment 12 James Richardson 2009-05-06 13:49:50 UTC
Tested on MAC 10.5 - same file works fine. Crashes on VISTA and XP
