Description John 2009-05-04 15:18:48 UTC
I would like the option of displaying something other than the time on my SB3's display after the alarm sounds. My personal preference is to see the Now Playing screensaver although it might be nice to choose the News Ticker or a Weather oriented screensaver.

In a perfect world, I envision an option on the Alarm setup screen in SqueezeCenter that would allow the user to display the Time screen after the alarm sounds for a specific amount of time. The most important feature would allow the user to choose what screensaver appears after the specified amount of time.

For example, I want to setup an alarm that plays a specific playlist or radiostation at 7AM. I want to display the Time for 10 minutes after the alarm has sounded. After the ten minutes are up I want the SB3 to display the Now Playing screensaver so I can see what I am listening to.

I know all I have to do is push the Now Playing button on my remote to achieve this but I am lazy and this seems like a good idea.

Kind of a dupe of bug 11972

As I think about this, I'm not sure that displaying the time is even necessary. Perhaps just an option to choose what screensaver is displayed after the alarm goes off. Those who want the time can display the time. In my case if the alarm has gone off I know it's 7AM (or whenever) so it's more useful to see something that I don't know...like what's playing on my SB3, the news, or weather.
