Description Weldon Matt 2009-04-27 13:25:02 UTC
Either in setup or via settings>advanced>software update, if the user is already running the most current known version of the firmware, the following copy is displayed:

"The software for this remote is up to date. If you'd like to reinstall version ?, choose Begin Update."

3 problems with this screen:

- The reference to "remote" needs to go away
- the actual version number should be listed instead of the question mark.
- There is no "back" button or cancel option.

Correct copy:

"The software for this [product type] is up to date. If you'd like to reinstall version [version #], choose Begin Update."

[product type] can be:

"Squeezebox Touch"
"Squeezebox Radio"
"Controller"

(if necessary:)
"Squeezebox Boom"
"Transporter"
"Squeezebox Classic"

etc.

[version #] should be the version number the way it's usually listed ("7.3.1 r5467")

- In "settings," there needs to be a back button.
- In setup, this screen shouldn't appear - if no software update is available, we skip this screen entirely.

My suggestion (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62658) is that the option to reinstall the same rev should be removed unless there's a real reason someone would need it.

QA to verify this has been addressed in latest firmware
Comment 4 James Richardson 2009-08-07 10:00:59 UTC
I still see issues with the copy, in place of the 'currently installed' verison I see a ? instead of the version number.

Andy is that yours to address? please reassign if not
