Description Dan Evans 2009-04-23 16:30:52 UTC
After a successful update the server does not restart on its own.

Using the "Update Now" menu selection from SqueezeTray, I have updated twice now on two separate systems and the server fails to restart. examples:

 1. On home WinXP system, unknown build but it was around 4/20. Updated to 4/21 build. Update completed successfully but server did not restart.

 2. On work VMware WinXP system, started on 26132 and upgraded to 26171. Server failed to restart.

On both systems server was set to default behaviors. (run as app, automatic)

change 26252 - we can't run the installer in silent mode, or the services won't be restarted.

Please note that running the installer in normal mode only means you have to hit enter a few more times. But then I don't even consider this an issue: last time I installed from the task tray I was actually a bit confused because I _expected_ the installer to not run in silent mode. But this might be just me :-)

Tested build 26229 (4/28) in VMware WinXP machine.

* Message appeared on tray icon that update was available. I selected the tray icon menu item, "Update Now".
* SC updated itself to 26264 but did not auto-start.
* I manually started it and the tray icon again popped up that an update was available, but...

* No menu item, "Update Now," appears in the tray icon.
* Waited several hours and no change.
* Restarted SC and no change.

= = = =

Installed and tested build 26264 (4/29) on real-world Dell WinXP system.

* Installed fine and immediately identified there wsa a newer version available.
* Tray icon _did_ include a menu item for "Install Update"
* Clicked on "Install Update"

* Successfully upgraded to 26305 (4/30) and auto-started fine.

I'll continue to test periodically.

Thanks for testing. The "update is available" right after restart and the
failure to restart have only been fixed yesterday. The update to 26364
therefore is expected to fail. 26300+ hopefully are working as expected.
Please note that I'm refering to the version currently running on your
system, not the one being installed.
