sean and I each saw a crash while forcing an update using the remote.  need to fix.

I can't reproduce this.  Vidur tried too.  Kevin: have you seen this?  Can you reproduce?

haven't seen it lately.  this behavior has improved significantly in the past
couple of weeks...  i'll do some more testing on this today though.

could this have been related to our base station freaking out on tuesday, you
think?  because now that fewer people are using it today, it's behaving very well!
