Description Jim McAtee 2009-04-09 13:38:02 UTC
During initial configuration, if the login credentials supplied for an existing SN account fail, redisplay the email address and the password (in plain text) when you send the user around again to 'Try Again'.
Comment 1 James Richardson 2009-06-09 13:24:11 UTC
Matt will address this with a confirmation screen before submitting data to the server
Comment 2 Jim McAtee 2009-06-09 13:26:28 UTC
That's not how to address this. It's a pain to reenter them if the login fails.
Comment 3 Weldon Matt 2009-07-29 15:47:03 UTC
Can't replicate this at the moment due to new factory reset functionality, but I seem to remember this being fixed?
Comment 4 Jim McAtee 2009-07-29 16:43:01 UTC
No, it's still the same. The new reset functionality doesn't keep you from testing this. You can still attempt to login to an existing account.

Reassigning to Andy, as this would be a SN change, though maybe there is no
need to fix, since the user can hit back to correct, though they might not
realize that.

Andy, prehaps at least the username should be pre-populated on retry? It'd be a
bit strange to also repopulate the password, in my opinion.

No, few people would realize this when there's a 'Try again' option.

It would only be strange if the password were hidden. With the password viewable in plain text, this isn't at all strange, and would save folks with long or random passwords a lot of pain.
